Kidpreneurs Interview with “Wild Willie” of NaturalEats Pet Treats

William aka “Wild Willie” has always been inspired to be an entrepreneur, and the Kidpreneur book/ program helped him get there. He now manages his YouTube Book Review Channel where he shares his Amazon affiliate link to earn money and has earned a lot of free books in the process. Most recently he started his local NaturalEats Pet Treats by Wild Willie business for his four-legged friends and would love your support to help boost his viewership!

1.) First, tell us a little bit about your background and experience. What, or who,  inspired you to pursue your ideas?

Wild Willie has always been interested in making money and helping his community. He has come up with many big ideas but none that work for his age, experience and what his parents would allow him to do. He has been inspired to make money and thanks his mother for coming up with the book review channel and dog treat business ideas. He has also taken a business course where his team won top prize, donated some of the profits to a local charity and loved the Kidpreneur book and course!

2.) What was the first business that you chose to pursue and what process did you go through to start it?  What did your friends and family think?

Wild Willie thought of making crafts to sell at his local Farmer’s Market which developed into making bracelets with inspirational words, names, or colorful designs. He received some support from the community but, as it dwindled, he switched to dog treats which have been a big hit. With Natural Eats Pet Treats, Wild Willie has been able to donate some profits back to the local SPCA and ensure dogs in his community are rewarded with healthy treats. To start, he was able to gift some dog treats to ensure dogs loved them!

3.) What obstacles, challenges, or setbacks did you face as you began to learn the in’s and out’s of entrepreneurship?

Wild Willie finds it challenging to find time and energy to make the dog treats and have them fresh for each order. He has also learned about profit loss as some customers will place an order and not pick it up as well as the treats spoiling. To remedy this he bought a dehydrater, with his profits, to make the treats last longer. He has also hosted giveaways with orders that he learned from as they were not as successful as he imagined they would be.

4.) How did you celebrate your milestones and successes?

Wild Willie celebrated with donating some of his profits to the SPCA and taking videos. He has worked hard at promoting, testing new recipes and investing back in his business.

5.) What kind of feedback have you heard from your customers/clients/community, and how does this make you feel?

” I told a few of my friends that have doggies too! Haven’t seen my dogs that happy for a treat in a while! I had to put them in a cupboard to get them to stop trying to get them haha you guys rock!” ~Nikki

“Max (the dog) gives great reviews!” ~Libby
